Nail Art Tutorial: Gradient Nails

I finally get myself to do this Gradient nail art. It is so easy that you can also try it by your own. All you need is just add some extra tools to your usual manicure remedy. Keep reading and you will know how to do it.

Tools needed:
  • Make up sponge
  • Cotton bud
  • Nail polish remover
  • Choice of your nail polish colors
  • Base coat
  • Top coat

Step 1
As usual, apply your base coat to protect your nails. Then, apply a base color. Leave the base color to dry completely. The base color is important as it helps the other colors look more radiant. Over here, I've chosen white (Skin Food - BW704) as the base color.

Step 2
Time to put on the colors. Apply the colors on your make up sponge in strips form. It's ok to let the colors overlap each other. The coral color is from Bloop - H117 and the yellow color is from Face Shop - YL 103.

Tips: Using creme colors is more advisable due to its pigmentation. It is difficult to complete this nail art by using sheer nail polish.

Step 3
Dab the make up sponge gently on your finger. Repeat step 2 and step 3 until the colors reach its opacity. Let it dry completely.

Tips: I don't cut my make up sponge in small pieces. Using the whole make up sponge gives me a better grib. I'll only cut off the used part later.

Step 4
Add on nail polish remover generously on the cotton bud and clean up the additional nail polish on your cuticle. You could use the edges of the make up sponge to clean as well. I find it more effective.

Step 5
Lastly, apply the top coat. Never skip this step as the top coat will help to smooth and make the colors pop.

That's it, we are done. Easy, right? Enjoy trying. =)
